An Investment in Lithuania’s Tech Future
We are an open platform for the tech community, addressing the challenges of the future. We bring together alumni, businesses, researchers and students to foster the long-term growth of talent and innovation in Lithuania.

How Does the Fund Work?
This is an endowment and support fund addressing today’s and tomorrow’s challenges in the tech sector. The Tech Fund harnesses technological expertise and capabilities to tackle the challenges of the future. We believe the greatest impact is created when different perspectives come together: alumni who are building careers and businesses; companies seeking new ideas and talent; researchers generating new knowledge; and students ready to turn that knowledge into reality.

BOARD OF THE FUND
THE FUND’S MISSION
To bring together the tech community’s capital – financial, human, technological and network – to foster the growth of talent in Lithuania.

Every investment – whether financial support, mentorship, expert knowledge or a new partnership – becomes part of the long-term capital working for Lithuania’s future. In this way, we are building an ecosystem where today’s contributions create tomorrow’s opportunities – for new generations, ideas and breakthroughs.
The Fund’s Focus Areas
A future-ready Lithuania does not wait for change – it creates it. Science becomes technology, and technology becomes global solutions. Progress is driven by systematic collaboration between academia, business and government.
-
Technological Competencies
We empower society to understand, develop and apply technologies in the economy of the future. -
Technological Resilience
We strengthen the country’s capacity to protect itself against cyber, information and technological threats. -
Technological Breakthrough
We create the conditions for high-value-added science-based industries to thrive in Lithuania.
Why Does It Matter?
Initiatives bring the community together in areas where today’s actions can create the greatest long-term impact. Each initiative strengthens the people, knowledge and ideas that help build a more advanced future for Lithuania.
The Future Starts Today
What Lithuania will look like a decade from now is already being shaped by the choices we make today – what we invest in, which talents we nurture, what we teach and which areas we strengthen. The future is not a matter of chance – it is the result of the efforts we make today.
Knowledge Drives Progress
Science and technology have real value when they help solve real-world challenges. By strengthening research, innovation and their practical application, we create solutions that drive economic growth, improve quality of life and enhance the country’s competitiveness.
An Investment That Grows in Value
Support given today creates a lasting impact – stronger education, more opportunities for talent and new ideas for Lithuania. It is an investment not in a single project or outcome, but in progress whose value will be felt by future generations.
People Drive Change
A country’s progress begins with people who have the knowledge, courage and opportunities to act. By investing in their development, ideas and potential, we create an environment where talent can grow and their work can help shape Lithuania’s future.
The Problem We Are Addressing
We are at the beginning of global shifts that will shape our future for years to come: geopolitical disruption, the AI revolution, talent migration and disinformation. In this context, we face four major challenges:
-
Talent Shortage
The labour market is changing faster than the education system. Future professionals are expected to be versatile, innovative and adaptable. This is creating an unprecedented shortage of talent.
-
Technological and Information Threats
Disinformation and social polarisation undermine public trust in the state, while cyberattacks threaten critical infrastructure and the functioning of public institutions.
-
Geopolitical Tensions
Lithuania is at the epicentre of geopolitical tensions. Strengthening an agile and advanced defence industry is becoming a national security imperative.
-
Competitiveness Gaps
For small countries, economic breakthroughs are possible only by focusing on high-value-added sectors. Lithuania has strong niche capabilities and expertise that are not yet being transformed into competitive export products.

-
The Tech Fund is an endowment and support fund established by the University, bringing together alumni, businesses, researchers and students. Its aim is to provide stable, long-term funding for student scholarships, research and innovation, regardless of annual budget fluctuations.
-
The Fund operates in two ways. The endowment works like a savings account: the principal is never spent but invested, and the returns are used to fund sustainable initiatives and programmes. Support fund contributions, on the other hand, are used directly for specific purposes, such as scholarships, events and mentorship.
-
No. You can support the Fund directly by bank transfer or through other available methods (see Question 6).
-
The Fund has the status of a charitable support recipient. This means that, under Lithuanian law, a company’s contributions to the Fund may be treated as deductible expenses, thereby reducing its corporate income tax liability. Such support is often included in a company’s CSR or ESG budget. Specific terms are discussed individually with each partner.
-
Companies can choose from three partnership levels, ranging from limited involvement to full partnership. In return, they gain opportunities to collaborate with students and researchers, participate in University activities, and gain visibility as companies that support innovation.
-
There are many ways to contribute without donating money: you can mentor a student, share your career story, invite the Fund to give a presentation at your company, or simply take part in events. Your time and expertise are just as valuable to the Fund as financial support.
-
The Fund is led by its Director, while key decisions are made by the Board, which consists of representatives from the University and the business community. Each year, we will publish a public report detailing how much funding has been raised and how it has been used.
-
You can donate any amount (we suggest €7 or €70) – what matters most is getting involved. You can donate directly through the website or by bank transfer.
